Hey all!

It's been great to see the recent growth in our little community [info]_fanfics as of late - so many creative and wonderful minds! Likewise to all of your works! Y'all have really been popping out some great stuff lately, and I know I for one only look forward to seeing more =)

I really want to get started with fic and art challenges for the community, but I have two things I would like to see get rolling with the community first:

(1) By September 1st, 2005 I would like to see at least 200 livejournal users who are members of [info]_fanfics_. I have been running about in "livejournal-land" trying to advertise and boost membership as best I can, but the thing that works the very best is what all of you can do! I know y'all have friends and other users who love fandom as much as us, so drag them on over here! If you belong to communities, give a shout out to the other members (get an OK with the moderator first tho!)... introduce people to livejournal who write or draw and don't have an account already... whatever you guys can think of!
Having a large membership is nothing but beneficial to all of you in the community! Sharing your works with a largely diverse crowd gives you a wide variety of viewpoints, criticisms, suggestions, and praise... which ultimately helps you continue to grow & improve as an author or artist. Not to mention provides all of us with so many wonderful works of art & literature to enjoy =) I really want you guys to have the most helpful, friendly, and constructive environment ever... and have as many friendly and helpful minds cheering you on!

(2) I think our community deserves a great look. And hand in hand with a great look comes a great looking icon!! I am going to open up a contest for [info]_fanfics_'s community icon very soon, and I want one of you guys to make it! Details and deadlines shall be forthcoming, but get your artistic minds warmed up and ready for when I open the contest up! (the member who creates the icon will have his/her username posted on the info page to give proper credit for their hard work)

That's all for right now, but be sure to keep an eye on the community for contests, challenges, and new works of fandom! Thank you!

hey i just wanted to say i love your 'feels like magic' icon!

i love that matrix commercial - i worked as a projectionist at a movie theater and we had it on one of the shows for about four months. every time it would come on i would always turn it up really loud in the booth and have mini lightswitch rave. hehehe. i just really like the song, i don't know why. :p

Hey, I saw lupin_with_love using your "House is teh sex" icon, and I loved it! I was wondering if you would mind if I used it. I'd credit you, of course. I've been looking for a decent House icon for a while, and that one is definetly the best out there.
